Year in Review of the G20 Interfaith Forum

G20 Social Summit

Over 55 people attended IF20’s side event at the G20 Social Summit, “Pathways for Partnership with Religious Communities.” IF20 was mentioned in both the opening and closing sessions, and Dr. Sylvia Pheto went on stage and spoke on behalf of the IF20 and all engagement groups to handover the declaration to G20 Leaders.

“Thanks to everyone who participated over the past several months with IF20. Thanks to Sylvia Pheto for finding the way to stand on behalf of all engagement groups to hand consolidated G20 Social recommendations to children’s representatives and thence to President Ramaposa. Our side event was powerful in key content. Overall, even though some of our recommendations were edited out of the consolidated and condensed final document, our voices were recognized and heard. Plans were launched for carrying on in the coming year.”
