Alexis de La Ferriere

Alexis Artaud de La Ferrière is a Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Sociology at  Royal Holloway College University of London, Research Associate at the Groupe Sociétés Religions Laïcités (EPHE/CNRS) in Paris, and Co-Director of the Center for Metanoia Studies. He completed his PhD at the University of Cambridge where he wrote is his doctoral thesis on the impact of armed conflict on schools during the Algerian War of Independence. He has written widely on Church-State relations in Europe and North Africa, laïcité, freedom of religion or belief, secularisation theory, contemporary Catholic history, and the relationship between social theory and theology. He has collaborated with the G20 Interfaith Forum for several years, co-authoring with other members of the committee a series of reports on FoRB and public policy.
