Baku Hosted the Third International Conference on the Fight against Islamophobia
Baku hosted a two-day international conference themed “Islamophobia in Focus: Unveiling Bias, Shattering Stigmas” from May 26 to 27.
The international conference was co-organized by the Baku International Multiculturalism Center, the Center of Analysis of International Relations, and the Baku Initiative Group.
Among the conference’s international partners were the G20 Interfaith Forum (IF20), the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO), the Doha International Center for Interfaith Dialogue (DICID), the Higher Committee of Human Fraternity (HCF), the Council of Muslim Elders, the Central Council of Muslims of Germany, the European Muslim Leaders’ Assembly (EULEMA), and the International Muslim Forum.

Azerbaijan hosts global conference to combat Islamophobia and promote religious tolerance
As global reports of Islamophobia grow, a high-level international conference in Baku brings together scholars, activists and faith leaders to confront hatred and call for cooperation and dialogue. Baku hosted the third International Conference on Combating Islamophobia, drawing over 120 guests from 40 countries. Held under the theme “Unveiling Bias and Shattering Stigmas,” the forum addressed the rise of anti-Muslim sentiment worldwide. Speakers highlighted the role of social media, rising far-right ideologies, and misinformation in fuelling discrimination. ICESCO Participates in International Conference on Combating Islamophobia held in Azerbaijan
The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ICESCO) participated in the international scientific conference entitled “Islamophobia: Exposing Prejudice and Dismantling Stereotypes”, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, on 26–27 May 2025. The event brought together more than 200 prominent figures, including leading experts, academics, and decision-makers from around the world.
The conference was marked by significant intellectual momentum, featuring the presentation of over 70 scientific papers that addressed the developments of Islamophobia and its current political, cultural, and social ramifications. It also proposed practical approaches to confronting the phenomenon. The sessions stood out for their diversity in themes and the richness of the discussions, reflecting a growing international awareness of the need to tackle this issue at its conceptual roots.
